Tandem Skydiving

The Tandem Skydive is currently used world wide and is the most popular way for first-time jumpers to experience the thrill of the sport of skydiving.

The method of tandem skydive and the equipment was conceived and developed here in DeLand, Florida.

Through the tandem program you will jump with one of Skydive DeLand’s highly experienced instructors using a parachute system specially built for two. Your harness is connected to your instructor’s from start to finish.

You will exit the aircraft at nearly 14,000 feet where you will experience the rush of free falling through the beautiful sky over DeLand, Florida at 120 mph. The exhilarating freefall will last approximately one minute, followed by a three to five minute scenic and peaceful canopy flight over DeLand, Florida. Your instructor will operate the parachute to a soft landing in front of the spectator area.

You only get to make your first skydive once, make it last a lifetime and capture the experience!

  • My reservation is at 9am, when will I jump?

There are so many factors in our sport of skydiving such as weather and local aviation that we are unable to predict the actual time of the jump. The time you schedule is your arrival time and we ask that you allow three to four hours to complete your exciting experience of skydiving. We have a full service restaurant on the premises and an observation deck with a playground to watch the skydivers while you wait for your skydive.
  • How far in advance should I make your reservation?

We recommend a reservation a few days in advance. Weekends are the busiest day and fill up quickly. Walk-ins are welcomed to the best of our ability, however reservations have priority.
  • Can you breathe in freeall?

Yes! The freefall and parachute environments do not cause any difficulty in breathing; however, some students have commented that it was awkward to breathe during the first few seconds. This is caused not by lack of oxygen but by the surge of adrenaline and excitement of first the skydive! Sometimes when a person is startled they draw in a breath of air and hold it. When you exit the airplane breath in and breathe out or just scream with excitement!
  • Can I jump with prescription glasses or contact lenses?
